主题：Bridge Engineering Technology Being Developed in the United States

摘要：This presentation will (1) start with the review of the current issues and difficulty of bridge structures, including the aging infrastructure and the public demand in bridge construction, and then (2) discuss the consistency of bridge design criteria with the multi-hazards and resilience.  In addition, (3) the accelerated bridge construction technology will be introduced to address the public expectation. The (4) bridge operation and management will also be briefly discussed and a summary will be provided at the very end. 

个人介绍：Dr. Yen is Currently serving as an international Professor of Bridge Engineering Department in Tongji University. He is also serving as the Chair of newly established International Association of Bridge Earthquake Engineering. Before he joined Tongji University, he was the former Principal Bridge Engineer of Structural Dynamics and a senior Research Program Manager of Bridge Earthquake Engineering of Federal Highway Administration, DOT USA. He received the “Engineer of the Year” award in year 2000 and a high level Superior Achievement Award from US Federal Highway Administration in October 2009.
