汇报人：Dr. Xiaohua Hannah Cheng
Presenter’s Short-Bio：Dr. XIAOHUA “HANNAH” CHENG is a principal engineer and working with New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). She manages Bridge Policy and Standards Unit and is in charge of development and update of policy, manuals, standards, and guidance for design, construction, and maintenance of highway bridges and traffic structures. She is also in charge of development of special design and construction criteria for major bridge projects, including extreme events criteria (Seismic, Scour, Wind, Security, etc.). She develops problem statements of research topics and oversees research projects in various topics, such as Bridge Scour, Seismic Design, Steel Orthotropic Deck, Fatigue Morning, etc.
Dr. Cheng is serving AASHTO CBS (Committee on Bridges and Structures) as a member representing New Jersey. She is also an active member of several committees, task forces, and panels of AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials), TRB (Transportation Research Board), NCHRP (National Cooperative Highway Research Program), NSBA Steel Bridge Task Force and ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers).
Before joining in NJDOT, Dr. Cheng was a researcher in the field of bridges and structures with ATLSS Research Center, Lehigh University and Public Works Research Institute (PWRI), Japan Ministry of Construction. She has published numerous research papers, reports, presentations, and book chapters. She also worked with consultants as a structural engineer in Japan and China. Dr. Cheng graduated from Tsinghua University with Bachelor’s degree. She holds Master’s degree from China Academy of Railway Sciences, and Doctoral degree from Nagoya University (Japan); all in Civil/Structural Engineering. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.
