报告题目/Title：Structural Topology Optimization Methods: current applications and advances
报告摘要/Abstract：Structural optimization can be interpreted as the attempt to find the best mechanical structure to support specific load cases respecting some possible constraints. Within this context, structural topology optimization aims to obtain the connectivity, shape and location of voids inside a prescribed structural design domain. The methods for the design of stiff lightweight structures are well established and can already be used in combination with commercial software. However, the applications of structural topology optimization in coupled physics problems are yet limited.
报告人简介/Profile：Research Fellow at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, Brazil, combines expertise in computational mechanics and structural topology optimization of multiphysics and multiscale systems. He holds a Young Investigator Awards fellowship by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). He has a significant track record in international collaboration in the field of topology optimization. He spent three years as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Cardiff University, in the United Kingdom, being also a guest researcher at the RMIT University (Melbourne, Australia), TU Delft (Delft, The Netherlands) and UCSD (San Diego, USA).
His research is recognized in the field of structural and multidisciplinary optimization, particularly in topology optimization for coupled multiphysics problems. Dr. Picelli has interests in stress-based topology optimization and design-dependent physics problems, including hydrostatic pressure loading, fluid-structure interaction and acoustic-structure interaction.
